chensteven
I just installed OS X Lion on to my ASUS U80V laptop with a boot-able USB using this method (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index. ... pic=256729) and right now I'm trying to use ##### to do my post-installation so that I won't need my USB to boot up anymore, however, I can't get past this stage. I checked off the ##### Install and System Utilities and made my install. I restarted my laptop and unplugged my USB hoping that it would boot properly, however, it would boot off to a grey screen and get stucked while showing that the system is running. So the problem is I cannot get to the login screen. So is it because my laptop has an Intel® PM45 Express Chipset? Is it too old since I cannot find any PM45 DSDT in the datebase? That is also why I didn't check off the UserDSDT in ##### because I cannot find the adequate DSDT for my laptop. I dont think the installation part had any affect on the system because everything is working fine with a bootable drive. Right now I just need to successfully do my post-installation using ##### so I can fix graphic, network, trackpad issues and etc.. Can anyone advise me? Thanks! Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/275665-problems-with-asus-u80v/ Share on other sites
Foxic
Don't use #####/#####/some strange installer you found somewhere. Install a bootloader, I would suggest Chameleon 2.1 (revision 1800 and something is the latest as the time of posting this). Find and install ALL kexts manually, OSX86.net is a good place to start. Install kexts by placing the in either Extra/Extensions or System/Library/Extensions, depending on the kext. Then run kext utility to rebuild caches and reset permissions. You should extract and patch your own DSDT, you can do this using DSDT Editor. Post in the DSDT sub-forum for DSDT specific help.
