Genix
Well I tried to re install OSx86 yesterday because Myzar's image was being very unstable. I installed the JaS 10.4.6 image with: 10.4.6 Combo Update AMD Base System AMD SSE2 Semjaza v1.2 Decrypts Booted up fine. I tried to install the 10.4.7 update using the Semjaza files from Demonoid (Semjaza's Decrypts with the Myzar 10.4.7 update) and when I rebooted it looked like it tried to load the GUI then it went straight to console. I tried doing the whole thing over and installed .4.6 again and again tried the .4.7 update and got the same result. I am now on JaS 10.4.6 but I still want to update to 10.4.7. Before this when I was on Myzar's 10.4.6 I updated to 10.4.7 easily (without Semjaza's decrypts) but it was very unstable. Which is why I decided to try the JaS version. Got a few questions: 1. Could it be the fact that I tried to use Myzar's 10.4.7 when installing the Sem decrypts? 2. I also can not get AMD_Enabler v1.0a to work. When I boot into single user mode and try to run the patcher it gives me an error about not being able to read some of the bytes or something. Any ideas about this? ThaHackBoy
I dont know if this works for updates, but did you try to copy the kernel manually? I think it was something like: "cp /mach_kernel /Volumes/Youre_partition_name" In the terminal when you boot from your install dvd. (so do this after you installed!) Maybe somebody can confirm if this can help? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/27564-tons-of-amd-problems/#findComment-187948 Share on other sites
mmaacc
2. I also can not get AMD_Enabler v1.0a to work. When I boot into single user mode and try to run the patcher it gives me an error about not being able to read some of the bytes or something. Any ideas about this? I think the AMD Enabler on the JAS disk is faulty. Got the same error. Try to find another version, someone posted a link to amd_enabler.zip here, but can not find it anymore. The forum search function doesn't work very well either.
