Installing OS X Snow Leopard [10.6] (or Lion [10.7]) on AMD64

Hey Guys,

I am wanting to install OS X Snow Leopard 10.6 (or Lion if possible) on my AMD 64bit computer.

I am wondering what my best options are in regards to getting it working?

I have got a working Macbook Intel Core Duo running Snow Leopard (which can't run Lion).

Hardware:

Processor: AMD Phenom II x6 1055T (6 CPUs) (SSE 1, 2, 3 & 4A)

Sound Card: Asus Xonar D2X

Graphics: AMD ATI Radeon HD 5 Series (5850 I think)

Motherboard: Asus M4A89GTD PRO

Software:

Retail Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard Disk (Legal, came with Macbook)

Happy to buy 10.7 Lion if it all goes well!

I am also happy on doing this in a virtual machine (VMWare, VirtualBox, etc.)

I have a lot of RAM in the PC (gaming computer) and am hoping I can get OS X in it.

The reason I want to do this is so that I can program in XCode for my iOS device.

TL;DR: I have an Asus AMD machine that I want to get OS X on it. What are my best options and are there any guides to help me?

Many Thanks!

Note: I am 100% new to all this & ACPI is enabled on my system.

Nawcom Mod CD + Snow leopard retail disk will be the easiest method for AMD.

There is no AMD support for lion yet so Snow is the highest you can go.

Thank you for this! I am now in the Mac OS X install screen and all seemed to work.

I'll tell you guys if anything happens/it works...

Well, I just installed it, etc. But then I reboot my PC into OS X after installing Chameleon, the Apple logo shows and starts loading although after 5 seconds it comes up with a X sign over the logo.

Any ideas?
