One point that was made is that it would make everything simpler if I could boot Windows using GPT rather than MBR. I was advised that I need a motherboard that supports UEFI 2.x in order to do so. My motherboard is a Gigabyte Z68X-UD3P and it certainly has options in the BIOS to boot using EFI. I've done some searching but can't tell for certain if this board supports UEFI 2.x.
