planetetv
Hi everyone, Since two weeks, I try to resolve a little problem with my ATI HD 5970, but no success. My problem is the overheating of my GPU. Indeed : On Windows : 50-53 ° celcius idle On OSX : 70 ° celcius idle In fact, fans are not "working" enough (around 1100rmp in OSX & exactly 1254rpm in Seven, idle, for temp under 65°C) [see the linked picture] I tried a lot of things always on a fresh install(1) (to prevent errors) you can see that from here (don't look the topic title, it was my first problem i resolved) : http://www.osx86.net/10-7-lion/12733-post-....html#post88051 (1) Fresh install = Installing OSX Lion 10.7.0 with ##### (tonymacx86), then lauching ##### (UserDSDT generated with DSDT easy generator, audio driver, network drivers, chameleon and essential kexts) then reboot then installing 10.7.2 update via Apple updater utility. Then, I just add the HD5970 device ID in the info.plist of ATI5000controler.kext (present in S/L/E), reboot and everything work good exept this temperature problem. (My card is recognize as a 5900 series). BUT, strange thing : With this group of kexts : http://www.mediafire.com/?qcvp9hljc4783ah Originally posted on kexts.com for HD 5670 (I modified ATI5000controler.kext to add the HD5970 device ID) and using a iMac11,3 SMBios everything is Ok , temperature of my GPU is around 55 °, screen resolution OK, card recognize as a HD5970 in System Pro BUT every "graphic effects" like make a window bigger or launching lauchpad is really really really laggy, and i can't play... Here is my configuration : Computer : Acer Aspire M7811 MotherBoard : Acer H57M01 (maybe constructed by Foxconn?) Bridge : Intel HD57 Bios : American Megatrends Inc. P01-A3 (12/31/2009) CPU : Intel Core i5 650 @ 3.20 GHz (Number of bits : 64) RAM : 6 Go DRR3 (Samsung) Network adapter : Intel 82578DC Gigabit Network Video : ATI Radeon HD 5970 (2 Go) Sound device : Realtek ALC888 Storage Device : Western Digital 1 To (Serial ATA w/ SMART Support) Please, can somebody help me ? :-\
