Hello,

I'm running a 10.5.8 distro install on my HP Pavilion. I planned to install the new lion on it, because more and more programs won't work with this old version. Normal..

My specs are:

Intel Core Duo T2250

2GB Ram...

Chipset: Intel 945GT

Sound: Realtek ALC883

Graphic-card: Asus Geforce 7500LE Low Profile with only DVI output

Motherboard: Asus MOCA-AR

Network and Sound replaced by USB devices

I tried to install Lion with ##### (App Store Lion Install).

Boot stuck on Apple Gray Logo

Tried severals boot flags: PCIRootUID = 0,1 GraphicsEnabler=Yes,No and of course -x -f -v

After, I tried also to install ##### on the Stick:

- PCIRoot Fix

- PCI Configuration Fix

- 32bit Boot flag

- npci=0x2000.

After I installed #####...

and again different combinations (GraphicsEnabler= Y,N, PCIR...=0,1, arch=i386...)

Nothing... all the time it stuck at the gray background with the apple Logo. (waiting 5 minutes to be sure that nothing happend)

I recognized that the Caps Lock directly hangs when the gray Backround arrives but it does the same with the working Leopard distro until the Login Screen. When the system start hanging, the led from the usb stick went off!

I believe the problem is the Graphiccard, thats why I tried to install the old extensions one by one : NVEnabler64.kext, Geforce Group, NV.....kext,... ) all the time the same.

The problem is that, even in verbose mode I don't see anything strange or I'm not able to see errors.

Does somewhere a log appears? I checked /var/log/ nothing.

I tried to record with my phone, but it's too fast. Tomorrow I've to try again. If I'm able to record something, I'll post it.

 • 8 months later...

I have same problem. My graphics card is an MSI TD128EN (ATI Radeon X1550 Series). I made a bootable USB stick with ######. When I choose this stick then I got an error message: "ATI non-POSTED...". When I use the -v -x -f GraphicsEnabler=No options the screen scrolling down and down, and when the installer wants to change the display I get an empty black screen. Is it possible to install Lion with this graphics card or I have to change it?

I am looking for your answer!

Thank you!
