I recently got my system up and running with 10.6.8 and now it'll kernel panic every 10 or so minutes. Sometimes it'll just lock up, sometimes it'll display the "Hold the power button to turn off etc etc"

 

It's only started doing it after I installed the official nVidia drivers, though. Could that be the problem?

 

My system:

 

Gigabyte EP43-DS3L

GTX 460

Q6600

8 GB DDR2

 

 

Any help would be appreciated.

iTunes visualizer never worked for me (GTX 460). Try tunning VLC, looping a video clip. You can run it hidden, in the background.

Weird... I've not really touched the DVD drive. If anyone else can shed light on that, it'd be nice.

 

Thanks for the link to the fix you use for the freezing, I was still getting that also :)
