Alessandro17
Actually it was released a few days ago, but there was still some uncertainty about it (especially download mirrors) and there is still some: is there going to be a PowerPack? According to the Mandriva Forum administrator, there will be one: http://forum.mandriva.com/en/viewtopic.php...=131544#p849600 Mandriva 2011 is also very late. Normally a Mandriva release for a given year is released in October/November of the previous year. Mandriva (then called Mandrake) was the first Linux distribution to be created with user friendliness in mind. In the early years of this century it was the most popular Linux distribution. It has had many ups and downs, both in quality and financially. Nowadays many former Mandriva users have moved either to PCLinuxOS or to Mageia. The future of Mandriva itself is very uncertain, even if its owners would never admit it. It is a shame. Mandriva, like any other really great distro, has something very special which makes it unique. Its "derivatives", although quite nice, don't have that "something". I guess they are just different.
