Shagger Posted August 20, 2011 Share Posted August 20, 2011 I got sound working properly with the H67M-D2-B3 motherboard using the drivers here with Lion 10.7.0. I'm using an Intel i3/2100 CPU @ 3.1gHz, 1155 socket. The correct instructions are: Remove any sound kexts in S/L/E and E/E, run [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url]->System Utilities and ->Drivers & Bootloaders->Kexts & Enablers->Audio->Realtek ALC8xx->AppleHDA Rollback. Do not delete the Extensions.mkext file from Extra. Then place GigabyteALC888b.kext and HDAEnabler.kext (both from the download link above) on your Desktop and run [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] to install. Reboot. SysPrefs->Sound->Output will show the available choices and System Report (formely System Profiler) discloses the right devices under Hardware->Audio. Sound works perfectly, with none of the crackling or distortion of the stock installation. However, running Software Update to update to Lion 10.7.1 breaks the above. (Everything else works fine). Repeating the above installation does not restore sound and SysPrefs->Sound->Output discloses no devices. Does anyone have a fix for restoring sound/audio with this motherboard in 10.7.1 please? Once installed I will also be trying to upgrade to 10.7.1 so I will be in the same boat as you with the audio I expect. Try reinstalling the DSDT file using [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] on your Kakewalk installation drive. Also re-run Chameleon applying it to your install drive - for some reason I had to do this to make the drive bootable. I used r1083. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Every APple update will kill this rollback etc. VoodooHDA 2.7.3 for Lion just came out. Just make sure if you use this driver to put AppleHDADisabler.kext in /S/L/E/. I had to install v11 voodoo preference pane and trying to fix the Input slider to stay at lowest setting on boot. I have no problems with my EP45-UD3P rig (great motherboard!) using Voodoo; it's the H67M-D2-B3 one that has the issue. I have tried all available versions of Voodoo in [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] in 10.7.1 as well as the Gigabyte kext I refer to above. The H67M-D2-B3 uses the ALC888b codec, whereas the EP45-UD3P uses ALC889A codec, which is likely the cause of the issue. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Shagger Posted November 3, 2011 Author Share Posted November 3, 2011 Fixed it finally in 10.7.2. My GA-H67M-D2-B3 is rev 1.0, and uses the ALC888b codec. (Later versions use ALC889 per Gigabyte's website). I ran TonyMac's [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] checking AppleHDA rollback and system utilities, copied GigabyteALC888b.kext (from Kexts.com) to Extra/Extensions, installed HDAenabler.kext on desktop and ran TonyMac's [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] to install.
