I'm looking to follow the guide on Tonymac's blog

http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2011/01/int...d-mac-os-x.html

It has a guide to install Snow Leopard. From there I'm hoping to use Kakewalk 4 to install lion

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=262823

The CPU MOBO and Graphics Card I plan to use are below.

Intel Core i5-2500k

Gigabyte GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813128502

Saphire Radeon HD 6850 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814102908

Has anyone used this board or a similar one to install 10.6 or 10.7?

Can anyone confirm that the Radeon HD 6850 is a fully functioning graphics card?

And does anyone have another good guide to installing Lion that they wish to share?

Thanks to everyone for helping!

I just bought this board to upgrade my system and I am having problem. I had Hackintosh running for years, first Leopard then Snow Leopard on a Asus board. I first upgrade my video card to a GTx 560 and after a fair ammount of trouble, I got that working with Lion.

So I decided to buy a new MB, CPU and RAM and I am tryng to install Lion now. I saw that this board was in TonyMac86's DSDT database so I thought it would be easy.

I am just getting started, but I can't get it to boot. I have 2 hard drives from my previous set up, one Snow Leopard, one Lion, and neither will boot.

I figured I would need to do a fresh install, but my Lion installer fails to boot as well. I took out the GTX 560 video card and put my older 8800GTS in for the install and that fails too.

I think the problem might be some BIOS settings, which is what has broght me online right now to get some advice.

Kurik i'm in your same situation, i bought everything new and now i can't install Lion neither Snow. After installing i got kp, then i reboot and everything goes right: i complete the installation then the sistem won't boot anymore. I've tried any boot argument and i've reinstalled more than 10 times. Nothing.

Anyone luckier than me?

Ok, solved. My issue was in the snow backup. Every time i recover a time machine setup got a kp.

A question: do you manage how to use both the internal video card and a PCIE for a dual monitor set up?

I'm putting together a system almost to the top mentioned one, graphics/mothers are the same. I put the components together before finding this, but I haven't bought them yet. Did you guys ever have any luck. I don't own Lion yet but would buy it if need be. I'm hoping to get the system setup with Snow first and see how it goes.

You might want to try this guide

It works pretty well with most gigabyte MB.

Getting multiple graphics cards to work on a hackintosh seems to be difficult. I would ask/look in the graphics card portion of the board.

Though your 560 drives two monitors and there is no advantage or benefit to using the built in graphics to drive a second monitor. It's a lot simpler to just use two of the outputs on the nVidia card.
