Anyone try Lion on this guy yet?

The no Quartz Extreme and Core Image from snow leopard is almost a deal breaker. I highly doubt going to lion will fix this. I got this laptop from a friend in possibly buying it..

So yah, any trials and success?

Lion GM is currently in test on my Dell Inspiron 1545 with graphic card Intel 4500M HD. So far I got wifi, bluetooth, usb/dvd, keyboard, magic mouse working. I'm currently testing several sound kexts for my ALC888 but still no sound working. I'm specifically looking for a method to get native resolution. In 10.6.8 I was using Deviato's modified chameleon that gave me native résolution but it's not compatible with Lion GM and Deviato seems to have left the hackintosh scene.

The no QE and CI support is what worries me on this laptop. Seems like it would be an issue..

What instalation method you used?

I used this method: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=260594

But I had to replace several kexts by the ones from 10.6.8 because I got several KP in the install process. Also I had to use a USB keyboard at the startup. Finally I found the right kext for sound but I'm still missing native resolution (QE/CI is hopeless).

Edit: I managed to get native resolution

Hi Boewulf, I replied to your PM on kexts.com but to answer the question for anyone else here, Netkas has the answer, specify in com.apple.Boot.plist as a kernel flag npci=0x2000

Let me know if it works for you. ;)

It's been a 4 week science project - but I finally got Lion installed on the Dell 1545. I used a couple of ways to get it installed. I used SnowBoot v1.1.iso off of Macyourpc. Also, I use ##### and ##### off of tonymacx86. My only problem I had, was trying to get the 1366x768 resolution. The QE/CI doesn't work, but on occasion the Laptop would boot into 1280x768, so I went to the following website for SwitchResX SwitchResX that overwrites and lets me boot into 1366x768 every time up.

Here are a few screen prints.
