First off has anyone successfully installed osx on a dell inspiron 2650?

My PC Stats:

Intel P4 M 1.7Ghz SSE2

256M Ram

3com integrated network

NVidia Geforce2 Go (Vesa 3.0)

Install from deadmoo img dd to hda

I have tried about everything I could that I've read yet still can't get osx to boot up.

including using and not using -x -v platform=x86pc|acpi

Removed NVDA, ATI, Airport ktexts

The last thing that happens is Login Window Application Started.

Here is a screenshoot, any ideas??

Hello...

Today I've installed OSx86 on my Notebook.

All fine, but there is one problem.

I just can boot in safe mode (-x), not in normal mode.

I deleted the three files from above.

The Logo with the grey Apple shows, but nothing happens then...

What could be the Problem?

Thanks for Answers and sorry for my bad English :)

EDIT:::

I could solve the Problems by deleting 2 Files out of the system/Library/Extensions Folder :)))

Greetings from Germany...

same problem...

platform=X86PC -x Works

Without Platform not

Singlemode and normal mode Stack with platform at the same spot like mistapony´s screenshot

if someone knows what i should change/delete pllz Post Path and Filename Thx <_<

With platform=X86PC you're turning off ACPI .... so something within OSX is breaking when you leave it enabled.

Look at your ACPI settings in your BIOS or disable the AppleACPIPlatform.kext ... Give it a shot and see.

Could fix it! It runs with platform=X86PC

The Reason why he didnt start in normal mode was the Grafic Drivers ! It want´s to boot the ati drivers but they dont work so i deleted them in save mode and viola... He boots in normal mode because Vesa is the only driver :D and now all work fine :D

just sound and W-Lan doesnt work but thats not a big problem :huh: oh and sleep and doesnt work ^^

on shutdown or Reboot the Laptop frezzes so i have to Press the Standby Button but thats also no Problem ^^
