Dougefresh91
Hi, I've been trying to revive my XPS 410, and I thought turning it into a Hackintosh might be ideal. However, I can't get past the "waiting for root device" error. I've got pretty limited BIOS options, and cannot change the system config to AHCI. I also can't reassign CD-ROM drive as master, so I swapped the SATA cables, but it still doesn't work. My specs are listed here: SPECS There are some differences with my machine: Nvidia 8800 GTX 4 GB RAM Quad Core So, I'm about ready to give up, but I figured I'd just ask here first to see if anyone has anything I might be able to try. The only mention I see of XPS 410 and Hackintosh are with 10.5, which won't do me much good. Is there anything else I can try? I used #####. I've seen people mention other Distro's, but I don't know what might work, and if it's worth trying. Any help or advice is appreciated.
