I have had SL installed on IDE disk using MB with ICH5R southbridge (similar as in the MB you have http://www.asi.com.au/support/Drivers/Ivan...e7525gp2tps.pdf ). It works probably slightly better then leopard.

You will need:

  • pathed kernel
  • properly patched DSDT (reboot fix and possibly some other stuff)
  • LegacyAppleIntelPIIXATA.kext
  • fakesmc
  • UUID.kext (optional)
  • other usual stuff (like SMBIOS)

Though I'm not 100% positive on VGA/LAN/sound...

The on-board LAN in my case works OOTB. I have PCI-E VGA (Nvidia 8 series) and PCI-X sound card both working with proper divers (NVEnabler&kXAudioDriver).

I've used EFI partition to store bootloader, Extra and stuff.
