I am trying to install Lion OSX on my Dell E520. Ive had success with installing to a usb but is very slow when I run Lion.

I set up the bios the way I want it. Boot with ##### and select the Base System install. Installation loads I select my language and only see #####!

I then check Disk Utility and only see USB Drives. Ive tried adding Elliotforcelegacy.kext to the extentions on the installer but it still resets the Bios when I run the install.

Is any one having this issue and can shed some light on this thanks!

if you dont put the rigth kexts for your SATA controller on S/L/E of the restored image and repair permissions or create the Extensions.mkext on S/L/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup and put your kexts in...

##### = /Efi/kext/10.7

XPC = /EFI/XPC/extra_kext/common

Chameleon = /Extra/Extensions

you dont get it work...

what I've done so far is : Added ElliotforcelegacyRTC.kext to Extensions folder of my restored image then.

sudo su

chown -R 0:0 /Volumes/Install/(location of Extension)

chmod -R 755 /Volumes/Install/(location of Extension)

What else? Is there a specific SATA controller extension?

There's a better implementation: Here's the document and link:

On my system I am having a problem running lion "GM" version that it is resetting the bios on restart every second or third time, It has gotten so annoying that I have stopped using it and am hoping that it will be fixed before the final release is released into the wild. Just wondering if others have had this problem with lion, I have it fully up and running but I just get this problem on restart. It does not do this with snow leopard, maybe it has something to do with the overclock that I had but it is strange that it would do it on one and not the other. My motherboard is about 4 months old and when it resets the time and date are unaffected it is just like it sets the optimal default settings in the bios so I doubt it is the battery.

I am running

Gigabyte H55m-sv2

Intel Core i3 550

8gb Patriot sector 5 ddr3 1333mhz

Saphire Radion HD 5770

Any help figuring this out would be greatly appreciated.
