I have nearly no knowledge of MAC OS terminal codes and stuff. I hope this basic guide will show users who own an Acer 5741g. After reading this post you have read the other post where there are details 5741g iAktos s3 snow leopard notes Now with voodoohda + pref pane My guide is simply an addition to the above post. a spesific guide to my laptop stated below. As there are numerous versions of 5741g series. with ATI INTEL AMD and so on. My laptop is 5741g-433g32Mn. Intel i5 2.26 GHz 4 GB 1067 Mhz DDR3 Nvidia GT320M 1GB ( working with no drivers) Broadcom Netlink BCM57780 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe -> 14e4:1692 (works with kext) Broadcom BCM43225 802.11b/g/n -> 14e4:4357 (not working) Card Reader (works) TouchPad with scrolling (works) I purchased the SL retail with [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url]. I couldnt do it. but using iAtkos s3 v3, [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url], combo 10.6.6 update. I worked. Problems so far. Wifi is not working But I know there are linux drivers out there. I tried the BCM43xxx beta kexts and enabled found on this forum but they didnt work out. using iatkos you have to use the busratio=17 to boot up the installer.nothing more. use disk util. format using MBR. I divided partitions in two. 1st is osx journaled, Install using customize with Check qoopz 10.6.3 kernel For Trackpad both checkboxs needs to be checked in mouse drivers. At first It doesnot identify the keyboard but pressing a key makes osx to understand what type of keyboard and mouse you have. Unselect sound drivers. Check Graphics enabler dont select nvidia drivers Check Laptop drives Vooddoo battery and card reader. When the install completes. Before launching SL from hard drive. Be sure to use the busratio=17 at first boot the registration stalls. I had to switch it off. but after that it works. reboot again. this time run combo update dont restart use [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] and select [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] option restart. if you want dual boot as I did. boot with win7 disc, install to the other partition. on windows download easyBSD add entry NST osx and MBR If problems Occur. you should use bootsect and diskpart option in command prompt to make active the windows patittion as active. On hackntsh... for sound use the kexts from the above link topic. But I have a problem with the webcamera and its microphone it keeps on and creates feedback at all times. For Ethernet search for the 57780 and the IO80211familiy kext is working fine if you happen to find the way to make the broadcom bcm43225 wifi work. please post you findings.
