I'm having trouble enabling QE/CI in Snow Leopard 10.6.6. I have a GeForce FX 5200 256MB PCI card. The system recognizes the card, but I cannot enable Quartz. I know the card is capable. I used a package installer (geforce 5200 installer .mpkg, linked from somewhere on this forum) which installed the geforce kexts and titan. QE/CI are still not enabled. I have read that I need to put my deviceID manually into some kexts, but cannot find a deviceid key in those kexts (notably, geforce.kext). Does anybody have a solution? ;)

Install Leopard, Snow Leopard does not have drivers for this GeForce.

There's no way around it? I'm trying to avoid reinstalling as best I can, as I've already invested a ton of time (and aggrevation) into this installation! Trial and error, I suppose... :)

There is no support for Geforce 5 FX cards in the nvidia drivers since 10.5.6.

i have the nvidia geforce fx5200 agp 256mb, and QE/CI works fine in 10.5.8.

try either Natit or Titan. these .kext files will activate nvidia cards, and give you qe/ci as well. try either of these, repair permissions, then restart to see if the mouse has a shadow (thats tells me it worked). good luck. :(
