WhizZ
Hey All, I have a DVD Burner and a Blu-ray Player, it works great burns and reads flawlessly. The issue I'm having is when the computer sits idle (or mostly idle) the drive randomly polls the drive. It sounds like its checking to see if there is a disc in it. I tried searching but looks like i'm the only one with this problem. I don't think it's good for the drives to let them constantly do that by themselves. Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone know of a fix or a cause? System: Intel Q9550 Gigabyte X48-DS5 4 GB DDR2 1066mhz

VirusX
hey WhizZ, I do have those random checks every few minutes too. Where did you disable the option? In your Bios or in Mac OSX? Thanks Maxim edit: just found another thread regarding that "problem" - will now read through http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=229853 and here's another thread about this topic http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...p;#entry1282308 so I'll try to disable in energy saving preferences. EDIT2: I think it is gone!! yeah!
