(HELP needed) Sleep works only after resume from hibernate

Hello everybody,

 

i have a very strange issue with sleep on my HP 6510b.

 

When I click on sleep (hibernatemode = 3) it writes a sleepimage to disk, and then screen goes black and fans go off.

 

After a few seconds it seems to rewake from sleep, fans go to full power, but the display stays off. The only solution is to force restart the computer by pressing the power button for 5 seconds.

 

After the reboot, it loads the sleepimage from disk, and suddenly I can also go to sleep (soft-sleep).

 

I would be very happy if someone can help me to solve, or at least explain this issue.
