I bought this pci-e dual port sata card hoping to use an extra burner and back up drive. I bought this card off eBay since it was advertised as working otb under 10.6 or higher. So far, the card works w/o issues under Windows 7 x64 and Linux Mint 10 x64 but upon boot I get a kernel panic_only one time I was able to boot to my desktop for about a minute before I had another kp.

This is my hardware:

X7DWA-N Supermicro mobo,Dual QC 3.0 Xeons, 12Gb RAM, 4 Raptor drives + 500 Gb TM drive, 2x DVR-218L burners, M-Audio 7.1 sound card, NVidia 8800 GT video card.

I have searched high and low but I haven't found any custom kexts that seem to work. This card is also show under Windows as Marvell 91xx controller...

{censored} it. I got me a RocketRaid620A 2 port pcie card on ebay for 29.00 shipped and it works out of the box and I can confirm that it does work as far as burning is concerned.

Are you able to install OS X and boot from a RAID on the RR620?

Thanks!
