My Mac will restart without a command

Hi there,

I have been using my mac for just about a year now. It's got Leopard in it and it's been really good, but about two months ago it started playing with the energy saving settings. If it's plugged or running on the battery, it will restart automatically after 10 minutes or so, so I can never leave the computer doing a download for example, it will automatically shut down and restart staying on the log in screen. All the setting are fine on the system preferences, so I am really puzzled.

I know this kind of things happen with PC's, mainly due to viruses, but I thought there were none for macs, right?

I would really appreciate any help.

Thanks
