I have searched for an answer as to the true SATA bandwidth on a mini 10v but found no-one with an answer. THere is some speculation but for the most part questions are posed and overlooked as no-one seems to know.

I have read that the mini 1010 has a problematic PATA to SATA bridge but that this does not apply to the 1011 (10v). From my experience with ssds (both barefoot and sandforce (latest firmware)) it appears to apply to 10vs also, or perhaps I am missing something.

Is it possible that these Netbooks were manufactured with a mix of components depending on what was available at the time? I ask because it appears that there are some people who have good results with ssds in 10v units.

Or perhaps I am missing something?

Ideas, opinions or knowledge eagerly awaited.
