Kevspins2
Ok, here's my problem. Hardware: AMD sempron 2800+ 768mb DDR PC 2700 Maxtor 20gig Diamond max, formatted MB: PC chips cheapy. M825G (http://www.pcchips.com.tw/PCCWeb/Products/ProductsDetail.aspx?DetailID=283&MenuID=24&LanID=2) I was able to find the iso for tiger x86 on a P2P program. the total file was about 560mb. and the title was "Darwin Install Tiger osX86.iso" so i burn the cd-r and hook up the blank HD and restart. I get to the darwin load screen, hit F8, then -v. it starts to load all the junk, and not a problem until..... "welcome to the install of ...... the following devices are avalible for install" could someone please help me. I dunno what the problem is, maybe it's because i don't have the install DVD (just the cd-rom) or maybe some other reason. any info will help! picture attached. pandy
it sounds to me like you have a severely incomplete version of tiger. The one doing the rounds is 1.2gb as an image and installs as around 4gb used on the hard drive out of 6gb assigned in the image. I had a corrupt install the other day, it didnt finish correctly and it was showing the same symptoms that you are suffering. I would locate deadmoo's image and DD it. Also this. Does the semptron even support the needed CPU instructions? ß Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/2388-my-install-problem/#findComment-15659 Share on other sites
cyrana
Your system doesn't have SSE2 so it is impossible to install and there is no workaround. Your board doesn't even support any CPUs which have SSE2.
