SupraWez
Hey All, I am new here and just thought I would say hello and give a little info about my Hackingtosh build As I was looking to do some iPhone development I discovered that the Apple SDK could only be used on MAC OSX, a bit more searching and I found this place, I upgraded a spare Acer Revo R3600 to 4GB and set about getting it working. After trying various releases that wouldnt boot after installation I went for a BOOT 132 and original OSX disk, once installed I used Empire EFI 1085 to get it up and running on its own. This gave me OSX v10.6 with working video and audio. I then tried to install the SDK, no chance, it requires OSX 10.6.4 minimum This is were I should have looked into backup solutions, sadly I tried upgrading via online software update, that trashed the install and after hours of trying to fix it I went for a fresh rebuild, this time I used SuperDuper! to backup the installation and test it worked before carrying out anymore work, I highly recommend SuperDuper! and its free. After more research I found that from v10.6.2 atom support had been removed from the kernel, luckily there are patched kernels listed here to get round that, top work on that guys. It was at this point I decided that if upgrading I may as well go with v10.6.5, I found the combo update package and kernel and set about getting it working, what a complete nightmare as the software included with Empire EFI 1085 that worked for v10.6 wasnt working, I managed to source new kext files and eventually got it all up and running with the latest patched kernel. My only issue is no audio at the moment as I cant find a HDAEnabler that works with this version Anyway here is a screen shot with the SDK running at 1080p.
