Zygote
Hi, I'm new here although been running OSX86 for about a year in 10.4.1 guise. I have a problem after re-installing with the 10.4.6 iso; File associations seem to have gone!! E.g. in .1 I could double click a .plist file and it would open in the plist editor, now it tells me there is no app associated with the file and I can't find the plist editor app to manually associate it.!! Can anyone help? Is there something I can run that will reset all the file associations to the system default? TIA Z
Rammjet
Plist editor normally comes with the Developer Tools package - a separate download and install from Apple intended to help develop applications. Maybe some kind soul included it in the 10.4.1 build that you installed. Perhaps if you mounted your 10.4.1 iso and hunted around you could find it and extract it. Otherwise, go to versiontracker.com or macupdate.com and find a 3rd party plist editor. Most plists can be easily edited in a text editor - just don't mess up the indents.
