Retail Snow Leopard install problems

I have been trying for a few weeks to get OSX installed on one of my spare hard drives no to avail.

You can see the spec of the machine in my signature, the only difference is I am using a 500GB WD HD instead of the 2TB WD HD that I use to run Win7 on.

I have created a bootable USB Pen (16GB ScanDisk Cruzer Blade) and also tried installing using an ##### CD.

I have tried removing all the memory apart from 4GB I have remove everything from the machine except the bare essentials for installation too.

Issues so far:

USB KEY:

This boots great, starts doing its thing, it shows the Apple loading screen, then panic and tells me I need to restart the machine.

I have tried this in all the USB ports same issue, I even booted into ##### then ran the USB from there, same issue.

Using ##### and my retail DVD of Snow Leopard 10.6.3

Using ##### I can get different results all accumulating in not installing.

If I do a straight install straight from ##### I get the Apple loading screen and then after a few mins it freezes and shows me a not entry sign.

If I run it in safemode or verbose mode I get different errors (cant remember which produces what)

First error is:

still waiting for root device

Second error is:

ACPI table not found: DSDT.aml

No DSDT found, using 0 a uid value.

Using PCI-Root-UID value: 0

Note: these dont happen at the same time.

I have a VirtuaBox of OSX that I used to create the USB pen drive, but this is from a cracked version of OSX I aquired online.

I have tried to use ##### ISO and the retail ISOs to install in virtuabox but I just get a plain grey screen, I think it is something to do with virtuabox's setup, as I get the same screen if I dont change the SATA to the AHCI

A few more details on my setup, all HardDrives are SATA, the 1TB I believe is SATA 1 (unlike the 2TB which is SATA 3 Gb/s)

I am also installing from a SATA DVD Writer (Samsung TS-H653G DVD-RW SATA)

I have read online some where that it could be because Im using SATA, BUT! my MOBO doesnt have IDE, so I dont know what to do with that info.

I am starting to wonder if either Im doing something wrong, or my spec is too new?

Any help on this well be great :)
