DiGiTaL MeNaCe
Followed the exact same steps listed above. but stuck at a grey screen after reboot. Same here. I read elsewhere that you need to add the device ID to an ATI Kext File.. I'll try that and report back Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/236740-howto-ati-radeon-hd-5570-guide-fully-working-qeci/#findComment-1627911 Share on other sites
saint1997
It worked fine for me, I have a Core 2 Quad Q6600 and my card is manufactured by Sapphire, don't know if that would make any difference. It also has 1GB of memory, but I'm not sure if it would make any difference. Maybe if you removed the ATY_Init.kext it might help, but it's just an idea. Although I'd heavily recommend using the #####+##### option, since I find that way to work extremely well, as I used it on my laptop with an NVidia GeForce 9200M GE and Core 2 Duo and both graphics and sound worked perfectly without any drivers needing to be installed! And I'd had SO MUCH trouble getting them to work on Leopard, I could never get QE/CI. I would try ##### on my desktop but it just doesn't work, I put the disc in and it just reboots after the "loading ramdisk image" bit. It's a shame, because it actually loaded a few times but could never find my external hard drive. Thanks. 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/236740-howto-ati-radeon-hd-5570-guide-fully-working-qeci/#findComment-1645224 Share on other sites
