Hello.

I`ve been lurking around here some days now, since a friend of mine wants to buy himself a macbook and I wanted to test the mac os x to see what`s so special about it. I read over and over tutorials from here and other websites, watched countless 7 vs snow leo videos and I must say that osx has really got my attention now.

The problem is I can`t even finish the install. When I first tried, it would freeze at the grey logo screen. I managed to get it working with -v -idlehalt=0 and got to the point where the install couldn`t see any partition. I used the live ubuntu cd to change a empty partition to fat-32, then tried again to setup. No use, since I can`t even reach that screen anymore.

I would truly like to try mac osx and I find it useful for most of the things I do, after I documented myself for a bit I finally realised that. Could you kindly help me do so?

I can give you any information about the laptop or whatsoever, just ask.

Thank you kindly.

Ok, I tried to install osx again with another distro, one I kinda found on torrent websites. Now, in -v, it shows me a error after random lines and it says something like the temperature is to high. Afterwards, the laptop died.

The curious thing is that I felt my laptop much hotter, it was barely warm now.

Do I have to modify something in BIOS or is there another version that works without this kind of error? Later today I`m gonna try iDeneb lite, I`ll post if it works.
