Jeremeyjeyjey
Hello, in order to update my Hackintosh to 10.5.1, I'll take a tutorial in the post it but there are two Vanilla kernel Not vanilla. How do I know which one to choose? I just downloaded the Kalyway 10.5.1 dvd and then booting vmware I did it and now, the GUI is launched. Thank you in advance
Gringo Vermelho
It depends on what CPU you have. AMD CPUs and pre Intel "Core Micro-Architecture" CPUs (Pentium 4, D and M) cannot run the vanilla kernel. Some new Intel CPUs also need a patched kernel to work, I think some of the Core i models and the Atom. I'm not sure, google or forum search if you want to know more. If you're running OS X under VMWare, I have no idea. Ask in the "multibooting and virtualization" sub-forum.
muchlife
one thing i know is that any Core 2 model can use vanilla kernel. Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad and Core 2 Extreme any AMD or Intel CPU made before the Core 2 series would need a patched kernel I'm not sure about Core i series (i3, i5 or i7), I haven't worked with them yet myself
