Kugz
Evening/Morning! I've been playing around for the last couple of days trying to install OS X on my Laptop, just for something new to play around with and I'm having absolutely no luck at all. I've been searching the web non-stop to find solutions to my answers, and to no avail so I thought I could come here and get some help myself. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Laptop Specs: I've got my CPU-Z report here: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1449308 Hopefully my hardware is compatible :S ----------------------------------------------------------------- What I've tried so far I have tried two different installations. - Mac_OS_X_10.4.6_x86_Install_DVD_(JaS) - MAC_OS_X_Snow_Leopard_10.6.2_[sSE2-SSE3]_FOR_INTEL-AMD_ In regards to JaS: I have tried all the usual commands, -v -x -f -s cpus=1 busratio, platform=, rd= etc and have gotten no where really. I will either get a <panic> (panic(cpu 0 caller 0x002B66B9): nfs_boot_init failed with 6) when I use the rd= command, or I will get a "still waiting for root device" error if not specified. The partition on my SATA drive I am targeting (disk0s3) is formatted FAT32 (which I believe is the right one, please tell me if it's not!) Without the -v command I will either receive the ol' 'Cancel' symbol or told to restart my PC. I've literally checked dozens of websites and forum threads, and tried the installer at least 50 times and still nothing. In regards to Snow Leopard This is the Hazard release for 10.6.1/2 and every time I try this I get the same reboot error. When typing -v (pictures attached) it displays the loading from the HFS and then just before it should say 'Starting Darwin/86' (I've seen an install video and that was the next line, it doesn't appear) my system reboots. No idea why! I am also aware AHCI has something to do with the installation of OS X, could me not having that enabled stop me from getting to the installation points with the errors I'm getting? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've spent the last few nights/mornings bashing my head in about this. If there's anything you want me to try, I'll have a go and post results here Kugz.
