d.butcher168
I have forgotten my old account here so I had to create a new one hence why I am posting in this section. I am however not new to osx86, I had a completely working installation last year of leopard 10.5.6 but however since then I had problems with the computer hardware and lost the installation. I have now recently purchased a Sony Vaio VPCEC2SOE, I wish to install Leopard or indeed snow leopard (however I am not totally sure how I can install this if Leopard isn't compatible. So my question is does anyone know if this laptop is compatible with Leopard? My specs are as follows: Intel Core i5 2.23GHz Memory 6GB Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 Wireless Adapter: Marvell Yukon 88E8059 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller Ethernet: Atheros AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter Audio: Realtek High Definition Audio, Device ID: (HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0269&SUBSYS_104D4600&REV_1000) I'm not sure what else anyone would need, if you need any more information about the laptop don't hesitate to ask. I have tried searching but no one seems to have the answers so I am posting on here. Any information would be very appreciated.
Headspin
Download CPU-Z and save as Html and post it here... I think its compatible from the info I see... Not sure about the graphics card but U can always use the Radeon HD kext... but u will not get QE/CI working if u cant find a 5470 kext unless it can be enabled... Your audio should work quite good. same with ur ethernet... I have that same atheros9285 card, works on 10.6.4 and above... anything lower, never worked for me personally... Uhh I saw a lot of Yukon kexts so hopefully one of em work for u as it should..
