Rumfy
Motherboard Brand Asus Motherboard Type P5KPL-VM Revision rev1.0 Mac OS X possible Yes Hardware Chipset Sata Audio USB Network Mac OS X versions supported 10.6.3 10.6.4 Topic After spending a lot of hours research and testing I finally got my P5KPL-VM motherboard to work. When you are done installing this way, you can easily update from 10.6.3 to 10.6.4. All Mac Software Updates work. I made a package with all the necesary files, you find the package on the bottom of this topic. This package also contains a how-to-install document. I will put this text down here: How to install Snow Leopard on a P5KPL-VM motherboard: Requirements for installation: - 8GB usb-stick with a retail Snow Leopard installation extracted on it (10.6.3) - EmpireEFI bootDVD - Much time - A little bit knowledge off Mac OSX - Use forums like www.hackintosh.nl (Dutch) and InsanelyMac Installation: 1. Boot with empire EFI and then boot up your USB with bootflag "-legacy". 2. Install Snow Leopard to your hard drive (GUID partition). If you don't have a partition with a GUID index, you can create one with "Disk Utility" before the setup. 3. Install the Chameleon bootloader 2.0-RC5-r568 with the PrefPane option selected. 4. Don't restart yet! Now copy over the Extensions folder with the Extensions.mkext into your /Extra folder. So you will get "Extra/Extensions" and "Extra/Extensions.mkext". 5. Restart and select your Mac OSX disk from the Chameleon bootloader menu. 7. For your audio to work, install the VoodooHDA.kext with Kexthelper B7. Reboot and done, everything works!!!!! Rumfy
Hi Andre when the installation is finished your computer will reboot, you will need to boot again 1 more time with the Empire EFI bootCD. You can select your hard drive in the Empire EFI bootCD which you have installed Mac OSX on. Then when your Mac OSX booted, you can proceed on installing the Chameleon bootloader. When you installed Chameleon Bootloader the folder called "Extra" will be automaticly created. After that you can put the Extensions folder in the Extra folder and you can put the extensions.mkext file in the Extra folder. I would recommend you to put all the files that I uploaded on a PEN drive, yes correct. Success!
