On bootup it says "VESA 3.00 16mb (ATI MEMBIOS)

 

on the system profiler it says ive got a PCI 128mb with these ref

which i dont know it i can trust that system id?

and ive spotted another post with a card that could be the same if not very simular

Oh bugger

 

I installed both those kext's and now ive got the same problem as i posted in another thread.

 

Everytime it boots up and gets to the grey apple logo it then switchs dark and asks to reboots and continues this each time. i would realy appricate it if you could tell me a command for getting past this screen. i have tryed -x safe mode and it loads a few items then it loads my disk and wants to install Mac OS X all over again.

 

Is there a recovery within the installation i could use so i didnt have to waste yet another hour?

 

Also im starting to give up with the AGP card and am thinking of sticking in my PCI Nvidia 5200 256Mb card? better idea?

reinstalled all again, now trying to get the sound working first before the ati incase i go nuts again lol

how can i get my device id for the onboard sound? xp isnt showing me and searching google hasnt helped at all
