Koruldon
Intro: Thank you for reading my guide on how to install a Hackintosh Build on a P5KPL-CM or a P5KPL-AM EPU mainboard. The reason why I'm writing this guide for two mainboards is quite simple: I previously had a Hackintosh Installation on a P5KPL-AM EPU mainboard but after some time, the soundcard of my mainboard seemed to had a problem with my Microphone. I had a phone call with the distributor of the computer and he delivered me a completely new mainboard (which was a P5KPL-CM). The architecture was quite the same. The only difference between them seemed to be the surround outputs. Don't panic: The installation of Hackintosh wasn't the reason for the soundcard failure. Specifications: My computer currently consists of the following components: Mainboard: ASUS P5KPL-CM Chipset: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q9400 @ 2.66GHz, 2666 MHz (Socket 775) Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT Ethernet:Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114 PCI-E Ethernet Controller Harddrive: WDC WD5000AADS-00M2B0 (WD-WCAV53696600) [s-ATA] Soundcard: VIA VT1708B Modifications: As the components that are listed above are very compatible to Hackintoshes, I had nothing to modify i.e. in my BIOS. Which installation method works best? iPC was the installation method that worked for me. iDeneb or other methods might work too, but if you want to make sure that it works you should use iPC. If the combination of Mainboard and Chipset worked for example with iDeneb for you, then reporting it is very appreciated. The installation process: I plugged in the DVD with the image recorded on it and let the computer boot it. Everything worked fine. On the following a list of Kext's and Kernels you should choose. Kernel: Voodoo 9.5.0 Video Driver: NVInject 0.2.1 (512MB) Chipset Driver: Intel ICHx SATA Drivers Audio Driver: AppleAzaliaSound Other Kexts: Seatbelt (Otherwise DMG's won't be loaded) Shutdown/Restart Fix, opt. Verbose Bode Software: OSx86Tools (must have), Kext Helper, EFI Studio Some of the Kexts will be replaced later. After the installation: If you set up your user account properly, you should have a properly working graphics card without QE/CI enabled. We will change that with removing NVInject and installing NVEnabler with Kext Helper or OSx86 Tools. A reboot should enable after then QE and CI. For have a working Ethernet you should download the newest AttansicL1Ehernet that is available. The one that is brought by the iPC DVD doesn't work because of an unknown reason. You should download it on your Windows Partition and copy it on a USB stick for example. USB works so that shouldnt be a problem. If youre a gamer like me you surely want to have a working microphone for chatting via Skype or Teamspeak. I've tried several versions of VoodooHDA until I've found this one: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=211173. This Kext works perfectly. Please dont pay attention on the {censored} I wrote under it. The Kext is working very good. Even the front panel works perfectly. If youre experiencing problems mounting DMGs, you might reinstall Seatbelt. The installation script of iPC seems to be buggy, and thats also the reason why we are installing AttansicL1 after the installation procedure. Thanks! If you followed my steps you will have a fully working Hackintosh now. If I forgot something I will add it later on. Thanks for reading! When I get to the Select a destination screen there are no hard drives listed. Am I doing something wrong? Please help. I have the P5KPL-AM EPU motherboard.
