zeeduckieez
I check my CPU with z-CPU, and my CPU supports both SSE2 and 3 (AMD Athlon 64 3200+), but which one should I use? Does it make a difference? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/23389-amd-sse2-or-sse3/ Share on other sites
troisd
During OSX86 installation, just SSE3 option, not both. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/23389-amd-sse2-or-sse3/#findComment-155215 Share on other sites
zeeduckieez
So... the 3200+ would be better if installed in SSE3 mode? Im not 100% positive if my CPU supports SSE3, but CPU-Z says it does. Rammjet
If it fails, then spend another 45 minutes to install using SSE2. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/23389-amd-sse2-or-sse3/#findComment-155247 Share on other sites
zeeduckieez
Hmm... I thought if you installed on the wrong SSE it'll screw up your CPU... Oh well, I'll try SSE3 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/23389-amd-sse2-or-sse3/#findComment-155248 Share on other sites
troisd
Your CPU does support SSE3. Google is your best friend. http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00030740.html Just SSE3 please. LaminarFlow
Is there a downside to installing both? My Pentium 4 506 supports both, and I checked both while doing the JaS installation, and from what I can tell, it works fine. Is there anything I can remove that would speed it up or anything? Rammjet
If you install both, they will clash and you will crash on boot up requiring a re-install. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/23389-amd-sse2-or-sse3/#findComment-155308 Share on other sites
LaminarFlow
Hm...I am most positive I checked both SSE2 and SSE3 on installation, and nothing crashed, it rebooted perfectly and everything.
