quake
I just finished installing Iatkos S3 10.6.3 on my Aspire 4736. It has the Intel GMA 4500M graphics. When I try to open a photo in Preview, i just comes up a grey screen. But I can open the photo with Colorsync and full size in Picasa. Anyone have any clues as to what could be causing this? Powaking
I have this very same issue and I have no flipping idea why. I have a Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 v3.3 motherboard with a 7300GS 256meg NVidia card. I can see thumbnails fine, pictures on websites are fine, pictures opened up in Photoshop are fine but Preview will not display anything. I also can not get QE enabled on my video card. Might default back to Leopard but hate to lose out on Facetime and iLife.
Gringo Vermelho
You need to get hardware accelerated graphics working if you want to use Preview (and lots of other apps). Hardware Accelerated graphics on the GMA4500 is not supported, there are no drivers for it, period. The most you can get is native resolution. Hardware accelerated graphics for Geforce 7xxx cards only work in 32-bit kernel and drivers mode since 10.6.2.

Mike Dhani
I believe what you need is Preview.app Leopard version. Just follow below instruction Needed files: * Preview.app (/Volumes/OSX/Applications/Preview.app folder) from Leopard CODE cp -r /Volumes/OSX/Applications/Preview.app /Temp/ mv -f /Applications/Preview.app /Backup/ cp -r /Temp/Preview.app /Applications/ cp /Backup/Preview.app/Contents/Info.plist /Applications/Preview.app/Contents/Info.plist ln -s /System/Library/Frameworks/Quartz.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/QuickLookUI.framework /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/QuickLookUI.framework
