linux4guru
Hi, Does anyone know how I can install OSX 86 for the Dell D620 laptop? I am having issue at the begining of the installation. It seems to get stuck at the gray screen and does not seem to go anywhere.
Rammjet
If you were to boot in verbose mode (-v) you would probably find the error: waiting for root device. This is a hard drive problem. It is hard to correct in a laptop because you need to get the hard drive set to primary master (via jumpers, not cable select) and the optical drive set to primary slave. Failing that, if you have Windows on the machine, there are installations that use VMware to install OSX to disk.
linux4guru
I can do the install on Dell D610, but not on the D620. I can't imagine that there are much different.
dangermaus
I can do the install on Dell D610, but not on the D620. I can't imagine that there are much different. The d610 and d620 are actually quite different. d620 is dual core, for one. I think the default graphics adapter is different as well.
lotus49
You may have seen this question answered elsewhere on the forum, but I managed to do this and have most of the hardware working. I didn't install the GMA950 drivers from the Jas disk and the installation went fine.
