mathq
Hello! I just updated my Hackintosh from 10.6.3 to 10.6.4. After that, It did a kernel panic with VoodooHDA.kext, so I removed it. After, it booted successfully, but the sound is no more working and the trackpad neither (they were both working before). My USB Bus still doesn't work. (it wasnt working before). Thanks, xmath279 PS: For those who have the sound problem... I fixed it by removing AppleHDA.kext. Try that, it should work Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/232674-after-1064-updates-issues/ Share on other sites

Thanks, xmath279 Did you try putting VoodooHDA.kext (0.2.62) in /S/L/E/ after the 10.6.4 update, and then repairing permissions and ownership via Terminal: sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/ sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/ sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions/ sudo kextcache -v 1 -t -m /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/Extensions.mkext /System/Library/Extensions/ Reboot with -v -f and then use Disk Utility to repair OS X permissions............ mathq
I'll try it with the sound, but with the Trackpad kext, it had no effects and I want to repair the Trackpad before the sound because this is annoying to use the numpad for moving the mouse But thanks again, Verdant for the tip OH MY GOD !! Where are you finding all those *** informations?? My trackpad is working again (didnt even need a reboot!)!! I'm trying it with the sound right now omg thank you!!! For the sound, at the moment I repaired permissions, it caused a kernel panic ! And when I restart it does the exact same kernel panic (with VoodooHDA mentioned). So, I guess the VoodooHDA kext no more work after installing 10.6.4 !! http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=355 i'll try that Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/232674-after-1064-updates-issues/#findComment-1552888 Share on other sites
mathq
For the VoodooHDA.kext, it didn't work ! Kernel Panic Forget what I said I just removed the AppleHDA.kext and it works again =) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/232674-after-1064-updates-issues/#findComment-1553373 Share on other sites
TH3L4UGH1NGM4N
you have to keep in my the kexts will conflict because they are both addressing the same object (the object being the sound) and it's because of that I'd assume the KP happens because of that. Just remember it's either apple or voodoo your choice.
