DJAngelicon
Great News after working on this install on an nForce680i and on an old HP Media Center m1095 Box I was able to finally install it using iATKOS S3 v2.0 DVD. To get my audio and wifi drivers working for my wifi adapter I use the Hazard DVD by running the inside packages for my audio and wifi asthero fix. The system is running fast, stable so far and still testing it. Currently on Mac OS X 10.6.3 which is what my Retail Disk version is and there are updates for softwares and the 10.6.4 update available. I am not sure if I should even bother at the moment trying to update so I might just enjoy it for the meantime before continuing my experiment with the OsX and the system hardware. Put in your drive the Snow Leopard 10.6.1-10.6.2 SSE2/SSE3 Intel/AMD by Hazard DVD. Navigate to the package section of the DVD but you might need to run the ShowAllFiles application so you can see the folders in the DVD. Navigate to System > Installation > Package and install the following; >> Audio AppleAzaliaAudio.pkg Now your audio should work just fine but you might find that file online if anything too so don't need to get the DVD for a single file. It just happen I had it so that is why I said run that DVD. Update: 9-6-10 Succesfully got it updated to 10.6.4. Simple update backup your mach_kernel using OSX86Tools and then run the MacOSXUpdCombo 10.6.4.dmg which you download directly from Apple Website. Once it finish installing don't reboot go into the directory and trash or backup the mach_kernel and then put in the backup mach_kernel that was backed prior to the update. Now reboot and you should be in the desktop in no time fully updated. ***For Legal purpose I would like to mention that I have a Mac Pro Notebook running Snow Leopard 10.6.3 dual boot with Windows XP & Retail Snow Leopard 10.6.3 DVD.***
javamocha2000
Your method was used for HP Pavilion a730n with same motherboard ASUS PTGD1-LA with HP name Grouper-UL8E. I also added Palit Nvidia GeForce 9400GT super 512MB/128bit/DDR2 DVI/VGA/S-video. This was almost perfect installation. I did install Audio for the AppleAzaliaAudio.pkg from same DVD that you had. I also did the update to SL 10.6.4 using straight Apple Software Update and this was by mistake but it booted with no problem what so ever. Go figure and I get full acceleration with Nvidia GeForce 9400GT card. Thanks ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update: I updated to 10.6.5, normal apple update will kill USB KB and USB mouse. Copy 10.6.4 (IOUSBFamily.kext, IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext) version from S/L/E to your desktop Download Mac OS X v10.6.5 Update (Combo) and update manually. Before you restart install 10.6.4 (IOUSBFamily.kext, IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext) version to S/L/E using Kext Utility Restart That's it.
testmusictest
I failed.... HP pavilion a840tw with same motherboard ASUS PTGD1-LA...(I think these boards are all the same...) After selecting those items and install....KP!! The message just shown me "double panic" full of the monitor. I tried on SATA & IDE HDD all the same. Maybe it's because of my ATI X1550 card? I'll try with other nVidia cards.
