StarForge
I knew I had no real idea what I was doing trying to copy a mach_kernel file I was given over the /mach_kernel, but what has happened is now I can't even boot into OSX. It doesn't matter what boot parameter I choose, none work. -s results in a black screen -v shows a few lines of text output then goes to a black screen -x shows the grey screen with the apple logo no option results in the same as -x All the above lock up the system and I have to reset. I knew I shouldn't have messed with the mach_kernel! Is there a way to fix or a means for me to get into a shell to copy the original mach_kernal back? Thanks! Rammjet
Try booting your install DVD. When you get to the first screen, go to the Utilities menu and select Terminal. StarForge
I wish I still had my install DVD here, all I have are the discs that came with the PowerPC iBook and eMac here Is that the only solution in this case? StarForge
Ok, don't worry, I've accepted the loss of this partition. I'll try to get it working again in the next few days fresh! Thanks for your help Rammjet.
