Minasokoni
So I was searching around on how to correct the display of my processor and memory when I was told to use OSX86tools. That endded up completely breaking my About section where everything says "ABOUT_BOX_PROCESSOR_LABEL... etc... Any ideas? :\
Alessandro17
Any ideas? :\ Yes. Do not use crappy tools by 12 years old.
Gringo Vermelho
Yes..2008 called, it wants its utilities back. To get your CPU correctly identified, use the Chameleon 2.0 RC5 bootloader. For example. There are other ways, but it depends. And of course you didn't say what kind of CPU you have.

Gringo Vermelho
I would upgrade to Chameleon 2.0 RC5. Check the thread on the new releases subforum. Snerler
What if my About This Mac dialog box crashes? I am already using Chameleon
Gringo Vermelho
I need more information about your hardware and your configuration. OS version, Chameleon version, Mac model identifier etc. If you "fixed" About This Mac with OSX86Tools, you need to undo what you did. Thankfully OSX86Tools can do that, visit the same dialog and there's an option to revert the changes. Read this (all of it): http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1400949

Rhapa
There's an app called Lizard. It offers you a simple interface that automatic made you a boot.plist and a smbios.plist and save them to /Extra. In the smbios.plist you can manage to you OS X identified your system as a MacPro, MacMini, iMac, MacbookPro, Macbook or MacbookAir. You also can choose a CPU type (there aren't much options) and built your own serial. Once saved you can simple reboot OS X and the "make up" will be made.
