LOLmoe
So I'm trying to gather some data on people who have Radeon 5770 installed and working. But only data I would accept from is people with current apple provided drivers. meaning 10.6 or 10.6.3 retail install with 10.6.4 update with the apple graphics update then with the DSDT method, Boot method, or the ATY_Init kext method. What vendor card are you using? What exact model is it? Which method are you using? Is the method working out of the box or do you need to make adjustments (Like custom ROM for Boot file method)? And is the performance stable? Crash, Slow downs, flicker, sleep problem, static/snow? Also, if you can try these connection combinations it'd be great. One of the DVI. (Both of them) at once. (2 Combinations) Two of the DVI at once. (dual monitors). (1 Combination) One of the DVI (Both ports please) and One in HDMI at once (dual monitors) - (So 3 combinations) One of the HDMI ports. (1 Combination) Then if you have a display port, please try using that and see if you can get 3 monitors working. Don't bother though if you don't, unless you have an active displayport converter. Da' Terminator
What vendor card are you using? Diamond What exact model is it? 5770PE51GXOC (Factory Overclocked) Which method are you using? ATY_Init.kext Is the method working out of the box or do you need to make adjustments (Like custom ROM for Boot file method)? Once I figured out how to use ATY_Init.kext properly, just that plus Netkas' hacked drivers works like a charm. And is the performance stable? Crash, Slow downs, flicker, sleep problem, static/snow? Seems to work fine. My Hackintosh doesn't work with sleep mode at all, so I can't verify that aspect. Also, if you can try these connection combinations it'd be great. This model has one DisplayPort, one HDMI, and one DVI. I don't have any DisplayPort devices, so I can't test that. The DVI port works fine, but I cannot get the HDMI port to work. (The Chameleon bootloader displays on it just fine, but it appears that once in the OS, the driver only recognizes the DVI port.) This was an install that was installed as 10.6.0 using one of the bootstrappers, I don't remember which one, and has been kept fully up to date using standard Apple updaters. When I installed, I used a GeForce 9600GT, and just upgraded to the Radeon 5770 today. The hardware is a dual Nehalem Xeon (aka: equivalent of the current - not the 'soon to come out' - Mac Pro,) 12 GB RAM, SATA hard drive, SATA Blu-ray drive, and 3 SAS drives (which, sadly, aren't bootable in OS X, although OS X does recognize them just fine if I leave the SAS controller in "SAS" mode instead of RAID mode.) It's a server board, so no onboard sound, so I use an iMic for sound. Also, the onboard Intel NICs aren't supported, so I have a PCI Gigabit NIC. Finally, the x16 PCI-e slot is really electrically only x8; although from what I've seen, that shouldn't really matter.
