cakeninja
Hello I have an Acer Aspire 5738Z Laptop working almost fully on OSX 10.6.2 on these specs CPU : Intel Pentium Dual Core T4200 2.00 GHz RAM : Samsung DDR3 4GB Graphics : Intel GMA 4500 MHD Hard Drive : Hitachi SATA 300GB Wifi : Atheros AR5B91 Everything is working except for 2 things which are QE/CI and Sleep Now for QE/CI i know that i have to wait for a driver or DSDT or EFI injection or a mod for it to work on a GMA x4500 But sleep shouldn't be much of problem i Guess . Now before, if i use to close my laptop hinge or attempt to put to sleep with VoodooPowerMini + SleepEnabler with NativePowerManagement Disabled, my laptop would just crash, no signs of panic, but i had to hard reset the laptop. Now recently i have started working on it and i Enabled Native Power Management while still keeping VoodooPowerMini cause i thought i would still get extra battery life. Next i have noticed that my UHCI USB were marked as Expansion so i have modified my DSDT with Method DTGP and The USB Built-in fix and now all my USBs are identified as built in. After this DSDT Modification, Sleep is Partially working, but still not as expected. If i put my computer to sleep the hard drive, cd drive and wifi turn off, but the screen w/w brightness and cpu fan are still on,Just like it use to do before when it use to crash BUT NOW if i press power my laptop turns back to normal. I have also Tried reinstalling SleepEnabler, But it does not make a difference. I Think that the GMA x4500 might be stalling the sleep procedure but ive seen forum signatures proposing that they have a GMA x4500 with sleep working Is there anyway to get sleep fully working ...any fixes that are worth trying. Thanks Bye Bye Also for all you Aspire 5738 users that have been trying to install Mac and failed, i will write a tutorial somewhere explaining how i got this far with mac on this laptop Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/228680-sleep-for-acer-aspire-5738-help/ Share on other sites
