MadMunky
Hi All, I managed to get my Lenovo R61 working almost 99% apart from the wireless driver which i believe is being release soon but after a reboot I've got this... I'd really like to not have to start again from scratch so can anyone help with why im getting this, I don't seem to be able to get into console mode or safe mode so maybe there is a boot string I need to use? If it helps the last kext I loaded was the ApplePS2Controller and an Apple ACPI, I tested both kext using kextloader which loaded ok before the reboot.. riws
Is there a particular reason, why you don't use the vanilla Kernel and took the AppleACPIPlatform.kext?
MadMunky
I used the AppleACPIPlatform.kext as someone reported it made my touchpad and keyboard work with the ApplePS2Controller. Would running Vanilla make it boot?
riws
AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext does the job for the PS2Controller and AppleACPIPlatform
MadMunky
Thanks for the reply, I manage to get it to boot again by rolling back to my orginal AppleACPIPPlatform, the kernel im running is the Mech Kernel. Problem is now the system will only boot if I use the string -v- f and I've also just updated to 10.6.4 which has broke it again complaining about org.netkas.fakesmc

MadMunky
Sorry for the delay, Here a pic, this is what happens if I try and boot without the -v -f option I've gone back to 10.6.3 to get this fixed then once its booting OK again i'll backup and try upgrade to 10.6.4 It looks like it complaining about the ACPI again... MadMunky
Anyone got any ideas, it strange that it boot if I do a -f
riws
Clear /System/Library/Caches Why not vanilla Kernel?
MadMunky
No Reason really I didnt notice it wasnt. What's the easiest way of enabling the Vanilla Kernel? Cheers though for the reply, just trying the cache clear now
riws
Get it from Update and replace it. But if you update to 10.6.4 it should install and load it, if its not loading a renamed Kernel file.
MadMunky
Will update again to 10.6.4 and try. Clearing the cache did not fix the boot problem though

riws
Get your System up again with 10.6.3 and create your DSDT, so you don't need the Disablers. You have Intel or Nvidia GFX? JMicron Controller?
MadMunky
Not sure how to create a DSDT will do a search Yeah GFX is a Intel X3100 (965) JMicron I think was needed for the SATA HDD in the laptop
riws
So you don't need nvenet.kext and NVEnabler 64.kext. Intel LAN? Search for DSDT Patcher JMicron I think was needed for the SATA HDD in the laptop Sure? Make a screenshot of DPCI Manager if you are in OSX. MadMunky
can i help you with ricom2ger what did you use to setup I cant honestly remember as it was a while back, I think I used something like ##### with OSx 10.6.2 but I did this on my PC I then created a bootable USB drive from that which I copied to the laptop so I can make a change and if i doesn't work I just clone the USB drive back again. So you don't need those JMicron Kext's Just run it, choose your OSX Partition. Cheers will give it a try and move the unwanted kext, next to work out how to get 10.6.4 working is mach_kernel not the official apple kernel? Didnt seem to help, I've removed the JMicron Kext and run DSDT Patcher then booted with the flag DSDT=/DSDT.aml but still getting the same kernel panic on boot.
