C-LIFF
Good Morning, I have recently attempted to set up a Hackintosh for the primary use of running MAYA 2011. I have been able to install Snow leopard and getting the basics running but when I try anything some what cpu and graphics intensive it freezes on me and then the graphics go crazy resulting in a flashing black/purple box that covers the whole screen at first and then violently creeps down to reveal the frozen screen. This then continues endlessly until i restart my computer manually. I have full control of the mouse during all this but i cant click anything. To help here is the procedure i followed to install and the parts i have used. I have recently built a Hackintosh with the following parts: Processor: Intel Core i7 860 Mother board: GA-P55-USB3 Video Card: EVGA 9800 GT 1GB with 4gigs of DDR3 Ram I followed the guide on Tonymacosx86 (http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/04/#####-#####-install-mac-os-x-on.html) using the ##### and ##### method. I installed snowleopard. I then installed the 10.6.4 Combo update. I then ran ##### installing easy beast for supported CPUS. I then installed the following kexts: (the screen just started flickering on me when i opened ##### to get the kexts i installed) -ALC888 (legacy HDA and HDA Enabler) -NVEnabler (graphics) -realtek R1000SL (networking) -Core i& (smbios.plit) Once this was all installed i was recommend on another forum to install a disabler Kext using kext helper b7 to apparently help my EVGA video card to work properly (This was my first attempt at fixing the problem and it did not work). (http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=4177) Thanks, I look forward to your help. Sorry for the long read but I figured it would help solve the problem for I am out of ideas.
