Gatot
Thanks to Semjaza for making the Finder, etc. patch. It works well ... But ... why System Profiler now cannot recognize my hardware?? Here is the error: Mac OS X Version 10.4.7 (Build 8J2135a)2006-07-24 22:53:38 +0000 2006-07-24 22:53:38.782 SystemUIServer[107] lang is:en 2006-07-24 22:53:49.509 System Profiler[155] Exception while calling [sPPlatformReporter updateDictionary:] *** -[NSCFArray objectAtIndex:]: index (3) beyond bounds (1) Mobo: Asus P5LD2-VM DH Intel Pentium D-805 (dual core activated) Onboard sound: Realtek ALC882 --> Azalia patch Onboard graphic: Intel GMA950 1 GB RAM (single channel) Fresh install: JaS 10.4.6 (SSE3 patch) Update 10.4.7 using Pacifist --> Replace for File, Update for Bundle ./replace.sh from Semjaza EDIT: Screenshots deleted .. GP1138
I was interested in this as well. What gives? LOL Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/22646-system-profiler-failed-to-identify-hardware/#findComment-150267 Share on other sites
SemjaZa
If it worked in 10.4.6 then i suggest reverting to 10.4.6 files for the system profiler. They are located in /System/Library/SystemProfiler/ You can use pacifist to install just those files from the 10.4.6 or 10.4.5. You might have a backup of the SystemProfiler located in the root dir /backup_1045 when you updated from 10.4.5 to 10.4.6. Is that error log from /var/log/system.log? Is it Semjaza the releaser? ::fainted:: Yes, this error log comes from the console, directly when I opened it .. Though not sure whether from /var or ~/var. Now, I'm back in Windoz .. till the next 8 hours I also have full "ioreg -l" to compare before (initial) and after installation. But seems no substantial difference there, unless some USB mouse and Azalia related. EDIT: URL Deleted .. Unfortunately, my installation is using Jas 10.4.6, so I don't have the SystemProfiler backup. But, i think I can load it from the DVD directly. BTW. Is it really caused by hardware? (index3 = CPU Type, Pentium D-805 --> if my perception to index3 is accurate) or something related with my Pacifist-way installation? or simply because of Apple has put another restriction in it, which means that some other hardware/software will not be functioning too?
