rashan
I've been trying to install this new distro for some time now without any luck. What i've been told to do is to "restore" the DVD to a hardrive, then browse the new iAtkos S3 harddrive for the following packages & kexts: ichx.pkg, AppleNForceATA.kext, ioatafamily.kext; put them in the "Extra" folder and boot with -f. BIOS: didn't find any sata settings, only raid (enable/disable on the desired channels).. Well, i tried setting the SATA DVD to SATA #1. Disconnected SATA HDD while IDE HDD is primary ide slave. edit: There IS something called UNetbootin. Which, reportedly, works just as well with windows isos as it does with linux. BUT would it work with a HDD instead of a USB and iAtkos instead of Linux?.. edit #2: Well i finally managed to get myself another empty DVD5 or at least an RW. So how do i reauthor the disc to include the needed *.kext & *.pkg folders in the "extra" folder? Scratch that, it's called drag & drop with TransMac lol in case any expert would notice this i've supplied full screenshots of my bios in the attachment bios.rar
rashan
Got myself TransMac. Opened up iATKOS_s3.iso. Found ichx.pkg, AppleNForceATA.kext, ioatafamily.kext. Yay! Now ho do i apply these in the "DVD:\Extra\Extensions" folder? I'm going to, eventually , boot the disc with -f so no need for "Extension.mkext" messing around. Trying to inject the kexts & ichx.pkg to DVD:\Extra\Extensions by simply dragging & dropping them into the iso, with TransMac resulted in the same devious behavior as before.. i tried booting normally = grey cross over apple logo. cpus=2 busratio=13 -f -v = still waiting for root device. here comes a screeny http://i26.tinypic.com/2n19ta1.jpg then i tried the same scenario but with USBBusFix=Yes -f -v http://www.imagehost.se/images/a532wrvs.jpg same but without -f http://www.imagehost.se/images/bsxhk03e.jpg http://www.imagehost.se/images/ehqsbs33.jpg http://www.imagehost.se/images/0m85jeih.jpg edit: wooow... google.com/search?q=MCP73PV+site:insanelymac.com

verdant
boy o boy am i not going to buy a nforce mobo chipset ever again.. oh well time for "education & fun" thanks for the help, verdant! Yes but without the nForce chipset, I would not have the material to sustain my Snow Leopard thread and two Leopard threads and my blog Of course, you could just follow my iATKOS S3 v2 install guide in my blog, trying the two nForce compatible SATA?IDE kexts if choosing the Intel SATA/IDE kext does not work for you......
