Alessandro17
Another great distribution has just been released: http://distrowatch.com/?newsid=06190 OpenSUSE is another distro built with ease of use in mind, but it is also powerful enough for the more demanding user. It is totally free, meaning that if you buy it, you get almost exactly the same as you download it. The only differences are more software on the media and a user manual. Codey
So does it support as much hardware as, lets say linux mint or ubuntu does? And what is compatibility like? I mean, you can get wine for linux so is there anything similar with openSUSE?
Alessandro17
So does it support as much hardware as, lets say linux mint or ubuntu does? And what is compatibility like? I mean, you can get wine for linux so is there anything similar with openSUSE? Of course it supports as much hardware. Support for hardware is in the Linux kernel. What might differ is hardware recognition, which in openSUSE has always been great, long before Ubuntu ever existed. Wine? Wine is available for every Linux distribution and even for other operating systems, including OS X: http://www.winehq.org/download/ http://wiki.winehq.org/MacOSX
