-v reports: "Failed to start CPU 01...rebooting".

My computer specifications:

PROCESSOR: Intel Pentium 4 524 (Prescott) (MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, EM64T)

MOTHERBOARD: ASUSTeK Computer P5VDC-MX (BIOS Vendor: American Megatrends)

CHIPSET: North - VIA P4M800 Pro/P4M800 CE/VN800/CN700 rev. 00 / South - VIA VT8251 rev. 00

OSx86 Flavour: iATKOS 5i

EDIT TWO:

I succumbed to using a USB flash drive and USB key to install iATKOS 5i. I can access Darwin bootloader and the grey Apple screen, until it reboots. If I don't do anything it becomes and endless cycle.

I used -v and it the last line is

"Failed to start CPU 01...rebooting"

I searched for solutions and use "CPUS=01 -v". The error line doesn't seem to appear, but it still reboots.

I can't seem to fix it. I read that using AppleACPIPlatform.kext may help - but I don't know how to. :)

Does anyone out there in this big, big, forum have an idea?

Thanks!

After some testing, this error appears when Hyper Threading is DISABLED. However, with Hyper Threading ENABLED it seems to get past the CPU but stalls at kernel information (at GUI: it starts with the 'You need to restart your computer message'). I also notice that the USB HD it is reading OSX from has stopped flashing/light is off.

Just some more information for your highly anticipated diagnostic. :)

update: After playing with BIOS, and trying 'cpus=1 -v' again, it doesn't give the CPU error. Below is the log:
