zip808
I installed with Snow Leopard 10.6.1-10.6.2 by hazard, I am running an AMD with an nvidia video card. So when i first started this project i was just happy to get mac running. I have corrected my issue but it seems there should be an easier way to do it. What i did on the install is just check off every driver figuring like windows it doesnt hurt to have more drivers, cause its easy to change in windows. My problem is my video card is showing up at as an ati raedon hd 4870 when i have a geforce 6150LE. I have not been able to figure out how to uninstall a bundled video card driver or re-install, the only way i have figured out to get around this was actually doing a clean install and just selecting the correct nvidia stuff..... Is there a way to change this with out reformatting and re-installing? I appreciate any help given. Thanks in advance. Zip *Edit* One more question also. I am dual booting...etc.... what is the best recommended set up so i can just clone my drive? cloning either threw windows or mac? whats the best way? id like it so lets say I have 2 250gig hard drive id like to clone I want it partitioned 125/125 windows/mac and just be able to clone the entire drive, so if i truck something up i can just swap drives? With out any boot0/boot loader problems, tech difficulties? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/223844-changing-video-card-drivers/ Share on other sites
zip808
Boom I was able to get my clone working. I used Acronis_True_Image_Home_2010_13_Build_7046 from windows 7 and was able to clone my multi-partition Windows/Mac HD and boot loader with Boot cd /dev/disk2 #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: FDisk_partition_scheme *250.1 GB disk2 1: Windows_NTFS System Reserved 104.9 MB disk2s1 2: Windows_NTFS Win7 115.3 GB disk2s2 3: Apple_HFS Osx 115.4 GB disk2s5 4: DOS_FAT_32 MUFFINS 19.2 GB disk2s6 *Edit* There were no errors, I just neded to set things in bios. Works Like a champ. I think this works well for me, if you have any other suggestions please let me know. Now I guess my last part is how do i remove these bleeeping ATI drivers..... On my computer I had the the 4830 installed the only way i was able to bypass it was by doing a clean install and only installing the following: Graphic Enabler, NVEnabler, and NVInject, It then reconized my video card as a geforce 6600GT PCIe (which was correct) Now as on my original install I installed all graphic card options on my little brothers mac. (He has a Geforce 6150 and its coming up as an ati radeon 4870) ATI HD 2600 Fix GMA3500 GMA X4500 ATY_init ATI 48X0 IDs Injector Graphic Enabler EVOenabler for Extra/Extensions EVOenabler for System/Library/Extensions EVOenabler ATI HD 4870 Extra/Extensions EVOenabler ATI 4830 System/Library/Extensions Legacy ATI 4800 NVEnabler NVInject Remove ATI4500 and ATI 4600 Controller - Support for ATI 4850 So I guess my question is how do i uninstall those or how to I install over it?
